Capcom, a Japanese video game company, has recently launches its classic platformer Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, called Ghouls’n Ghosts MOBILE for Android platform. Being first launched in 1988, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts received a lot of success and became one of the most popular challenging action platform games. The new Classic gameplay mode of its Android port is quite similar to its predecessor. The main character, Sir Arthur is still vulnerable as he was in the original game, the enemies are deadly and plentiful as they were in the 1980s, but Capcom even added the boss in each battle.
Although Capcom has customized for the touch screen controls quite well, they are not able to replace physical controllers. The current version for Android still doesn’t support the peripherals like physical controllers and we’re not sure if Capcom will add this functionality into some future builds of Ghouls’n Ghosts MOBILE. However, there is a plus point as the Android version ships with some additional contents besides the aforementioned extra boss fights since Sir Arthur is now able to fire projectiles directly himself while in the air and access to a wider variety of gear, which allows players to charge their weapons and activate special skills to attack.
Anyone who’s fond of the Classic gameplay mode of Ghouls’n Ghosts MOBILE can try the Casual one, though it’s a little difficult. The Android port version just comes over two months after the launch of the Android remake of the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins. Capcom is expected to launch more classic games on mobile platform in the near future and an update on its efforts to release shortly. In the meantime, Android gamers can experience the Ghouls’n Ghosts MOBILE from the Google Play Store for a one-time fee and then get it with the price tag of $0.99.
