Steps to create app-specific passwords

Step 1: Log in to your Apple ID account at appleid.apple.com/account/home.

Step 2: In the Security part, click on Generate Password down the App-Specific Passwords.

Step 3: Enter a password label into the text field. Next, click Create to make an unplanned password. The password label assists in differentiating one app-specific password from another.

Step 4: Click Done to end the creating password process.

Step 5: Next up, paste the password into the password field of the app as usual.

You are allowed to have up to 25 active-specific passwords at any time you want. Please take notice that each app-specific password can only be used for one app only.

Step 3: Then, in the App Specific Passwords part, click on View History.

Step 4: Now you are able to eliminate one password or all of them at once:

  • For Revoke individual passwords—To do this, click the “x” put next to a password you want to delete, then click on Revoke.
  • For Revoke all passwords at once—To delete all the created app-specific passwords so far, click Revoke All.

As you delete a password, the app using that password will be logged out of your account. If you want to sign back in, simply create a new password.

Please remember to create new app-specific passwords for all apps, which don’t enable verifying codes to ensure security issue. Additionally, all of your app-specific passwords are automatically deleted whenever you download an update or reset your Apple ID password.
