Finally, HTC launched its latest Android flagship smartphone, the U11. The new HTC U11 comes with the new Edge Sense feature that allows users to contact with the phone by squeezing it. When pressing on Edge Sense, it will launch apps, take photos, and more.
The HTC U11owns the standard hardware specs of 2017 flagship smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. There will also be a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage variant in some other markets.
The U11 features a 5.5-inch Super LCD Quad HD display with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. In terms of camera, the HTC U11 comes equipped a 12MP Dual Pixel camera with 1.4 micron sized pixels, UltraSpeed autofocus tech, OIS, an f/1.7 aperture lens, and a dual LED flash. Furthermore, the new U11 can also be capable of 3D audio recording with the help of 4 microphones. On the front is a 16MP snapper with an f/2.0 aperture lens that supports 1080p video recording resolution.
Unfortunately, HTC’s new flagship still gets a 3000mAh capacity battery, which is likely the same with HTC 10 and U Ultra. But the fast charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 standard is also provided. Other connectivity features include LTE Cat.16 (1 Gigabit download speeds), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, AirPlay, Miracast, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. The new U11 runs Android 7.1 Nougat OS with the HTC Sense layout on top.
In build quality department, the HTC U11 is very similar to the U Ultra, with a glass surface at the back and a metal frame covered in the middle. The device will go on sale with five color options including Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Ice White, Solar Red, and Amazing Silver. The U11 is the first HTC smartphones that comes with an IP67 water and dust resistant.
