Being announced about one month ago at MWC 2017 in Barcelona along with Xperia XZs and XZ premium, the Xperia XA1 is now available for purchase in Hong Kong market. The device has gone on sale with a price tag of HK$2,498 (around $320) and, of course, the model for this market will come with the dual SIM support, which features a dual SIM tray and a separate microSD card slot.
The Sony Xperia XA1 features a 5.0-inch IPS display with 720×1080 resolution and a 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass on top. Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core SoC inside, clocked at a 2.3 GHz with Mali-T880MP2 GPU for handling graphic. The chipset is packed with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expandable via a micro SD card slot.
In terms of camera, Sony Xperia XA1 has a 23 MP main camera at the back with f/2.0, 24mm, phase detection and laser autofocus, LED flash; while on the front is an 8MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 23mm, autofocus, 1/4″ sensor size, which is expected to bring great selfie shots.
Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, NFC, GPS with A-GPS and USB-Type C port. Keeping the light on will be a 2,300 mAh non-removable battery capacity, which is slightly smaller than other mid-range Android devices. The XA1 will run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS based on the Sony’s custom layout on top. The phone measures 145 x 67 x 8 mm and weighs in at 143 grams.
The Xperia XA1 will be available in white, black, gold, and pink color options. Before, the phone is already available to pre-order in Malaysia, and the launch date for European market is set for next week on April 10th.
